Below is a list of my current development efforts. Click on the name of the project for more information.

oPort Media Hosting |
The purpose of oPort is to allow content producers to
easily upload and host their content online. The oPort development effort began in December
of 2009, and has grown to include:
- A Web Interface - allows users to upload and manage their
content. The website makes use of many open source components including
jQuery and
Uber Uploader. The website
is built with standard HTML and uses Javascript and AJAX to communicate with
the server-side PHP.
- Media Conversion - automatically converts content to web ready formats,
particularly video. The open source component FFmpeg
is used for conversion to the popular FLV/H.264 format. oPort also injects FLV metadata to allow
seeking during video playback. The conversion process is fully automated and supports job queuing.
- Hosted Content - oPort will host user content online in a web ready format.
The user can export a hyperlink to the hosted content, or embed it using autogenerated HTML.

Simple File Dropbox |
Using the standard FTP server/client interaction, Gritto Net provides
a platform that allows for easy transfering of files between computers.

(anonymous login/pass) acts as a drop box that can be used to
temporarily host and transfer files over the internet.

Applications in the Cloud |
Gritto Net hosts a server preloaded with several applications
(office productivity, web design, image editing, etc.). The server
and its applications can be used remotely by any internet connected
computer with an RDP client.

Information Storage |
The Bubble
acts a web interface to a free and public database containing
technical information, quotes, articles, and a myriad of other
notes submitted by users. Development on the Bubble has halted,
but the website remains online for archival purposes.
- Jot a Note - Easily store information
in the Bubble and retrieve it at a later date.
- Search - Sift through multiple
databases simultaneously after your search query

E-mail |
E mail is one of the most widely used services on the internet. Gritto Net
hosts an email system that services the @gritto.net domain. This is made possible
by the low cost ($0) and widespread community documentation of open
source software. A brief description:
- Run on Postfix, a secure and easy
to configure Mail Transfer Agent
- Includes SSL/TLS encryption for
secure communication
- Mail delivery to clients via
webmail, or using
standard IMAP clients (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.)
